Zuari Cement, taking further steps to make the community around its production facilities self-dependent, has established 'Prazna' - a skill development and self employment drive for the youth. This initiative desires to promote skill enhancement activities for the rural youth and to enable them to be a support to themselves and their family.

Zuari Cement, determined to improve the economy of the village community, has taken additional steps to facilitate youngsters with an opportunity for sustainable earning.
As affirmed during the launch of 'Prazna' at Sitapuram, about one month ago, Zuari Cement with this initiative would facilitate 80 youth, both men and women from villages nearby the Zuari Cement Yerraguntla unit, to receive training on functional jobs.
Skill development programs undertaken at Prazna:
Ø Tailoring and sewing skill training for women
Ø Screen printing
Ø Jute/paper bag making
Ø Motor winding and other electrical maintenance
Ø Mobile repairs
Ø Driver training program
On 06.10.2014, tailoring and sewing skill development program was inaugurated by Mr. Nabil Francis, Managing Director, Zuari Cement. This training program would be held for 20 ladies identified with the help of village leaders.
On the occasion, Mr. Francis addressed the gathering and emphasised that 'Skill Development Program' is an excellent effort to provide training and opportunities for youth to become self-reliant and financially independent. Zuari Cement's attempt with this corporate social responsibility is to help the unemployed youth explore the possibilities of acquiring new skills and become independent. He added that this program will be simulated at every unit of Zuari Cement, supporting more youth to become self-reliant.
Mr. Srinivasarao Yadagani (Vice President - Yerraguntla Works), Mr. Carlo Foroni (Director Technical), Mr. Krishna Srivastava(Wholetime Director), and Mr. Suresh Sivanandam (President - HR & IR) and other senior executives were present at the event. Village leaders, beneficiaries and Zuari Cement employees attended the inauguration function.
