“ADVOCACY, COMMUNICATIONS AND SOCIAL
MOBILIZATION”

Bala Vikasa- is a registered, non-profit, non-governmental community development organization, based at Warangal, Telengana, India. Bala Vikasa’s nearly four decades of experience with a wide spectrum of developmental programmes, have shown repeatedly that Advocacy, Communication and Social Mobilization (ACSM) creates positive change, influences decision-makers, and engages and empowers communities to change.
Bala Vikasa has been effectively implementing relevant community development programs, predominantly in the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Committed to integrated development of rural communities, Bala Vikasa is presently active in approximately 2000 villages. It is changing the lives of millions of people, irrespective of caste, race, religion or politics, through various development initiatives such as Women Integrated Development, Water, Youth, Food Security, Environment and Education for orphan and needy children, training and capacity building programs for all the target groups. Besides reaching out to 24 states within India, Bala Vikasa has expanded and included in its knowledge sharing programs to 43 countries across the globe.
On behalf of- Bala Vikasa, co-sponsored by CIDA, it is our privilege to invite you to attend a three day Training program on “Advocacy,Communication and Social Mobilization" to be held in Warangal at Bala Vikasa PDTC from 25 to 27th September, 2014. The program will include more than 25 participants who are development professionals, consultants, research scholars, NGO staff and all the concerned related to the domain of developmental sector.
The purpose of the training
To acquaint the participants on the concepts of advocacy, communication and social mobilization, their differences and inter-linkages, and benefits of incorporating ACSM activities into various developmental programmes. It is envisaged that the Program
- Facilitates sharing of participants concerns and experiences on ACSM approach on various developmental programmes
- Introduces various skills needed to apply ACSM and expose the participants to resources and networks
- Leads into planning processes of advocacy and communication campaigns on specific and locally relevant issues
The program will focus on presentations of exchange of experiences and disseminations of best practices in ACSM in different developmental projects.
The Program will allow for substantial dialogue, lectures, small-group discussions, group sharing, video presentations and exercises among the participants.
In order to encourage and support the participants, Bala Vikasa is providing food and accommodation at its own cost.

Award of Certificate:
The participants will be awarded a certificate of participation on conclusion of the Program.
