About the organisation
ActionAid Association is a national organisation, an affiliate of ActionAid International federation which is active in more than 40 countries across the world and is committed to fighting poverty and injustice. In India, we have been working since 1972. We currently operate out of 12 Regional Offices spread across 25 States and 1 Union Territory.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Programme Manager plays a significant role in ActionAid’s work in the region. S/he will be responsible for coordinating the management of projects and resources in the region as well as capacity development of the project teams.
Other key responsibilities include:-
Reporting: Regional Manager - Patna Regional Office
Travel: Extensive Travel
Skills and Competencies
Salary & Benefits: Approx- INR 6.6 Lakhs CTO (Cost to Organisation)– per annum - this includes PF contribution.
In addition, other benefits - Group Medical Insurance with coverage of Staff & Dependents; Personal Accident Insurance of staff and gratuity is payable as per law and norms of the organisation.

Other key responsibilities include:-
- .Assisting the Regional Manager in matters relating to advocacy, networking, alliance building, programme audit and other activities/interventions.
- · Exploring the feasibility of new partnerships and growth in the Region through identification of compatible partners (NGOs, CBOs, Activists etc.,) and their networks through consultation and consensus building.
- · Coordinating and supporting management of long term projects (Development Areas/Local Rights Programmes) as well as short term projects (National Fund Projects) in the Region, ensuring high quality programme delivery in line with ActionAid’s Accountability Learning and Planning System (ALPS) and Global Monitoring Framework (GMF).
- · Supporting and facilitating the Planning and Budgeting process, participatory review and reflection processes and other strategic exercises in the Region.
- · Supporting in other reporting requirements (partnership / fund raising project related etc.,) of the Regional Office.
- · Ensuring effective sponsorship communication through high quality reporting of newsletters, Child Messages etc., as per the timelines.
- · Facilitating capacity building of human resources in the projects.
- · Any other responsibilities as assigned by the line manager.

Skills and Competencies
- · be a Post Graduate in Social Sciences/Social Work/Rural Development/ Management.
- · have at least 5 years experience of managing development projects.
- · have sound knowledge of macro/micro development issues relating to India.
- · Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) in English & Hindi; knowledge of local language is desirable.
- · Gender sensitive and strong conviction and skills for the empowerment of the poor and disadvantaged groups.
- · Excellent understanding of local/ regional level issues pertaining to social groups like Dalits, Muslims, Tribals and others.
- · Should have good documentation skills and be proficient in basic computer
