Dalit
Foundation isa national organisation that is devoted to promoting the cause of
Dalit Rightsthrough supporting activists and groups that are committed to
fighting caste-based discrimination. Set up in June 2003, it is an organisation
that provides small fellowships, grants and capacity building support to
grassroots level initiatives that are fighting to help Dalits reclaim a life a
dignity, equal rights and opportunities. Presently the foundation is at a stage
in its growth where more people need to be involved to strengthen and fortify
its work. We, therefore, decided to train dalit youth as fellows with the
knowledge, perspectives and skills to pursue social action and become sensitive
young leaders for the dalit movement as part of the foundation’s team. The
programme entails a holistic development of the Young Professionals through
perspective building, exposure to grassroots level work and training in systematic
and objective research methodologies. A fellowship of one year would be
provided to selected candidates, this could be extended to one more year.
The objective is: - to train young resourceful dalit youth and
provide them with exceptional opportunities for personal and professional
growth - To prepare insightful and skilled professionals for the
foundations- To build an all India perspective on dalit issues based on the
research and observations of the young professionals.
Qualifications:- A minimum undergraduate degree- Below 30 years of age-
Extensive travel - Basic knowledge of English Interested candidates may
