Dear
Friend,
Odias have made their mark across the globe today.
Odias living in various parts of India and abroad are successfully established
and acknowledged in business, industry, bureaucracy, art, science, sports etc.
While Odias have scaled the heights of success, the interest of Odisha and
their fellow Odias has always been close to their heart. It is evident in the
hundreds of Odia-socio cultural associations throughout India and the globe who
are working towards the development of Odisha and promotion of Odiya culture, language
and literature.
However, we believe that there is a need for these
Odias and Odia socio-cultural associations to come together to:
- learn from and leverage each other’s best
practices
- form a single unified voice of Odias
across the globe
- have greater impact while representing
the interests of
Odisha and Odias before government, bureaucracy
and other agencies
This idea was seeded during the Odisha Day
celebrations in Bangalore this year. Some of us representing various Odia
associations have volunteered to take the first step. The idea is going to take
a concrete shape now in the form of the first All
India Conclave of Odia Socio-Cultural associations. This conclave will
be called Odisha without
Border. We would like to invite you to join the conclave in Bangalore on
August 9th, 2013 for a day-long program.
The primary objectives of this conclave are to:
- bring all Odia associations under one
common platform
- have the members network among one
another
- showcase and learn from each other’s best
practices
- form a think
tank to promote the interests
of Odisha and Odias living across the globe
- formulate the vision, mission and the
charter of the apex team
We are requesting the President and Secretary of
Odia associations from across India to participate in this
conclave.
We would take care of your accommodation, food and
local conveyance during your stay in Bangalore. We would request all the
participants to bear their travel expenses to and fro Bangalore.
We request you to confirm your participation by
the 18th of June. We
shall share the venue and other details in our next communication. Look forward
to meeting you in person in Bangalore.
Warm regards.
Yours sincerely,
