Dear Sir/Madam,
A pioneering organisation in the
field of youth development, Vishwa Yuvak Kendra was established with the active
support of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and was inaugurated in 1968 by the then
President of India, Dr. Zakir Husain. It organizes workshops, seminars
and training programmes for the youth workers of grass-root level NGOs on
different developmental issues.
Right to Information was a path
breaking legislation wherein every citizen has a right to question governments
and the governments are legally bound to provide us information. Parliament of
India enacted Right to Information Act, which empowers the citizen to question
governments, inspect their files, and take copies of government documents and
also to inspect government works.
To create maximum awareness,
sensitisation and education amongst the general public on fundamental concepts
and nuances of such an important act the Vishwa Yuvak Kendra plans to organise
a three day programme on Right to Information from 25 -27 June, 2013.
The following topics will be covered
during the programme;
-
Background of RTI Act
