The International Fund for Cultural Diversity (IFCD) provides support
for projects undertaken by applicants from developing countries that are
Parties to the UNESCO Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the
Diversity of Cultural Expressions.
According to the Guidelines on the use of the resources of the
International Fund for Cultural Diversity, project proposals must deal with
cultural policies and/or cultural industries. Past projects have involved:
• development and implementation of cultural policies;
• mapping of cultural industries;
• capacity-building of cultural entrepreneurs;
• strengthening existing cultural industries;
• establishing new cultural industries;
• promoting the participation of the youth and marginalized groups in cultural industries; etc.
